Responsibilities

  • To act as 81C in his /her absence.
  • To ensure in the absence of the area/site manager the companies Health and Safety policy, Environmental Policy and Site-Specific Rules are all implemented to be in alignment with the requirements of current legislation.
  • To oversee the day to day running of the quarry to maximise production within set timescales and costs, ensuring all the required records are completed.
  • To ensure compliance of all materials produced both to stock and supplied to the customer.
  • To manage the site labour to ensure all tasks are completed.
  • To ensure any training requirements are highlighted to line management especially for legislative minimum requirements for yourself and site staff.
  • To undertake accident/incident investigations where required liaising with the company’s health and safety managers.
  • To be proactive and constantly seek ways of improving the site in aspects such as production or facilities.
  • Conduct themselves in such a way to not endanger themselves or those around them
  • Conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times as an ambassador of Mick George Group
  • To liaise with the office staff in regard to organising site fuel deliveries.
  • To complete all required site checks on a daily/weekly and monthly basis to stay in line with legislative guidelines.
  • To ensure all plant operators are completing their daily machine checks/maintenance.
  • Carry out routine inspections of the processing plant to ensure that all chutes are clear, conveyors are operating correctly, and the screen and spray bars are not blocked.
  • To ensure all new employees to site are inducted and the required job training is given to them.
  • To be organised in managing the workforce to ensure all required tasks are completed.
  • To carry out any other duties relating to the quarry as requested by the area/site manager
